Family Testimonials

My son who was diagnosed with dysgraphia and ADHD, was reading 2 years below reading level and his writing was completely disorganized. After 3 months with Anna, every one of his middle school teachers reached out to me to praise his progress. She truly is a miracle worker!!

She cares and has a gift connecting with her students. She’s just the right blend of firm and nurturing. Her words are always encouraging and my son has gone from doubting himself to having the confidence to share his writing. Most importantly he’s proud of himself!

I have been searching for a program like Sunnyside Literacy Lab for my children, aged 8 and 6, to boost their decoding and reading fluency.

The Word Study course has met my expectations, focusing on phonics, morphology, and fluency.

Through its use of the Orton-Gillingham method, a research-based multisensory approach, the program makes reading accessible and engaging for learners challenged by reading and spelling.

My children are improving and gaining confidence in their reading abilities.

Despite having an IEP, my son was not getting all his needs met, no matter what we tried. He also was burnt out since covid, and no longer wanted to read. My avid reader now hated reading anything and everything.

I spoke with Anna on an intake call in mid-August 2024. She took time to hear all my concerns and worries. We started at the beginning of the school year, and I am so grateful for his Sunnyside Literacy Lab class.

My son likes to read again! He also began writing again and learned some great organizational writing tools that carried over into school. His ELA grade has gone up, and his ELA teacher noticed he is participating more and doing his work with less push back.

I cannot thank Anna enough for helping build his skills and confidence in reading and writing.

As a new parent to a preschooler, I’ve had concerns about my son’s attention span and media diet.

I attended a workshop at Sunnyside Literacy Lab to learn more about “Creating an At Home Reading Culture.”

I entered the space and was greeted by a cozy living room. We learned how to create a book nook, routines, ways to affirm and how to have discussions.

I feel more confident starting our journey to literacy and recommend this workshop to any family.
