As a first-year teacher, Transferable Literacy Strategies has been a hugely helpful tool to simplify and structure my thinking around how to present key concepts for reading comprehension. I’ve introduced this resource’s systems for annotating, finding central idea, and determining the genre of a text in my classroom, and have found its approaches to be straightforward and easy to understand – both for me and for my students. Plus, I’ve been able to use charts provided as inspiration for anchor charts and graphic organizers.
