Next November, NYC will elect its mayor. To participate in the election process, Sunnyside Literacy Lab will serve as a stop on a listening tour for Queens Power.
Queens Power organizes Queens residents to build the power needed to fight for and win justice for themselves and the communities they live in.
We’ll gather as parents, educators, and literacy stakeholders to discuss what we’re looking for in city leadership.
The conversation will be facilitated by Father Carl Adair from The Episcopal Mission in Sunnyside and Robbie Block from Queens Power.
This is a great opportunity to have your voice heard and put education on the agenda!

Join us for our exciting FREE parent workshop, "What is Orton-Gillingham?"
Learn more about Orton-Gillingham (OG), a structured approach to teaching reading and spelling that breaks down words into letters and sounds.
In this parent workshop with Sunnyside Literacy Lab, parents will learn what OG is, what it looks like in action, and whether their child would benefit from it.
If your child struggles with reading or spelling, this is an opportunity to learn about an approach that can make a difference.
